Adam, Ewan, and Nolan met on a 30-day mountaineering course with the National Outdoor Leadership School. Traveling up the Nelchina Valley then onto the Nelchina Glacier they learned the fundamentals of mountaineering including expedition planning, crevasse rescue, camp building, alpine ice climbing, and team dynamics.
